Mr. Matthew J. Meloche, Director of Sacred Music and Principal Organist
Canadian-born organist Matthew J. Meloche studied philosophy at the University of Windsor until deciding to move to the United States to do church music as a full-time profession. While in Canada he served as Associate Organist at St. Rose of Lima (east Windsor, Ontario), Director of Music at Most Precious Blood (central Windsor), Director and Principal Organist of the highly acclaimed music program at the Windsor Tridentine Mass Community, and Principal Organist at the newly formed Immaculate Heart parish (central Windsor). After relocating to Columbus, Ohio he was Director of Music at Holy Spirit (east Columbus) and St. Joan of Arc in Powell (north west Columbus). Since moving to Phoenix Matthew has worked as Director of Sacred Music at St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Surprise (West Phoenix), and since 2013 as Director of Sacred Music at the Cathedral of SS. Simon and Jude.
Mr. David White (1pm and 7pm Spanish Masses)
David completed the Master of Arts in Church Music from Trinity Lutheran Seminary in 2017. Relocating in Summer of 2019 with his family from Ohio following a 22-year career as a music educator, David is now the full-time Director of Music at King of Glory Lutheran Church in
Tempe, AZ.
Sister Mary Katerina Masek, R.S.M. (5:00pm Mass, Young Women's Schola)
Sister Mary Katerina Masek, R.S.M., is a Religious Sister of Mercy of Alma Michigan. She received her Bachelors Degree in Piano Performance from Hartt Music School in 1984. Her area of study changed, and she received her Doctoral Degree in Philosophy in 2015 from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, and now teaches philosophy at Benedictine University in Mesa, AZ. While studying in Rome, Sister was a part-time organist at the Pontifical North American College at the Casa Santa Maria, for the priests who are sent to Rome for Graduate Studies. Sister volunteers as a part-time organist at the Cathedral of Saints Simon and Jude.
