The Cathedral English Choir sings for the 9AM Mass on Sundays. This is our principal choral ensemble, singing additionally for Bishop’s Masses, Vespers, Easter Triduum, Christmas, Diocesan Liturgies, and other special Liturgies and events. Knowing how to read music is preferred but not required. Repertoire is mainly traditional hymnody, sacred polyphony, and other choral works.
The 9AM Mass is a televised Mass and thus viewed by many throughout our Diocese and beyond, thus the highest levels of commitment, self-discipline, and desire are required. Rehearsals take place on Wednesdays at 6:45PM
The Cathedral 11AM choir is an all-volunteer choir for those wanting to learn and participate in more traditional music of The Church including singing antiphons, chants, & hymnody. Rehearsal time is TBD.
The Cathedral Spanish Choir sings for the 1PM Mass on Sundays. Our largest choral ensemble at the cathedral, this ensemble sings for many additional Masses throughout the year including Masses for Easter Triduum, Christmas, Diocesan Liturgies, and other special liturgies throughout the year. Knowing how to read music is preferred but not required. Repertoire is largely standard Spanish hymnody used commonly throughout Latin American Cathedrals, Sacred Polyphony, and other well-known Spanish language hymns. Rehearsals take place on Thursdays at 6:30PM.
The Cathedral Evening Ensemble sings for the 5PM Mass on Sundays. Our newest ensemble, the Cathedral Evening Ensemble is open to all ages as well as wind, brass, and string instruments. The repertoire is a mix of traditional hymnody, sacred choral works, and contemporary hymns from the best of today’s Catholic composers.
