PHOENIX (Oct. 5, 2016) — The Office of Vocations of the
Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix
is releasing a series of video profiles on the priesthood titled
. The videos, which may be watched at
, seek to encourage Hispanic families to open up to vocations to the priesthood. According to Fr. Paul Sullivan, Director of the Office of Vocations for the Diocese of Phoenix, “The importance of openness among Hispanic families to vocations to the priesthood and religious life is critical for vibrancy of the Church.”
is a series of short (3 minute) video profiles on Hispanic priests at several stages in their priesthood. The videos are in Spanish with English subtitles. Through these videos it is hoped that the community will understand that priests come from families, and in order for vocations to spring up, families need to be open and supportive of the idea of having a son become a priest.
The Office of Vocations released its first video and will subsequently release additional videos daily for the next two weeks.
According to Fr. Sullivan, “This video series will help to share the good news of what God is doing in the lives and families of the priests and seminarians profiled. I pray that this will lead others to look at themselves and their families and consider the impact God wishes to make through them.”
