Specializing in Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony, and traditional hymnody, the Cathedral Choir of Phoenix sings at the 9:00am Mass and at other Solemnities and Cathedral and Diocesan functions throughout the year.
The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings and meets early on Sunday morning to prepare for Holy Mass.
Because of the difficulty of music and high standards for music at the Cathedral, a singer must be able to blend with a Cathedral-sound choir (straight-tone singing), have sufficient sight-reading abilities, be able to sing in-key with proper diction, and have a positive attitude.
The Cathedral Choir is a great place for young people in high school or college and for young adults to learn the craft of singing sacred music, develop friendships with others who love the music of our faith, and grow in your relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ.
